Future Energy Solutions (FES) is a privately-owned business that delivers scaled, energy reduction-driven re-lamping solutions. FES provide in-depth and mature project and solution expertise from a sector specific in-house team drawn from blue-chip companies
FES works with major asset owners, occupiers and operators to upgrade lighting systems across entire portfolios, either through the FES funded model at zero up-front capital cost or through a traditional capex purchase.

FES provides turnkey lighting solutions including survey, design, analysis, procurement, installation and long-term maintenance, all on a project managed basis.
FES operate with a panel of international large scale and industry experienced manufacturing and installation partners, who, working in tandem with FES, deliver a best-in-class service to the customer.
WHAT IS OUR SCALE
To date FES has installed over 300,000 energy efficient lights across the UK and Europe, generating over £80M in savings for its customers. FES has the flexibility to scale up to deliver any funded lighting project across international markets.
FES is backed by Matterhorn Capital, a global property company with over £3BN in transactions over the past decade, giving FES access to high quality and low-cost capital.

Simon Conway
Shareholder
Simon has served as Chief Operating Officer to Future Energy Solutions and its global operations since 2012. After many years of successful business ventures, Simon acquired London’s leading exhibition centre, Earls Court & Olympia (EC&O) with Anthony Lyons for £225 million in 2004. EC&O featured over 1 million square feet of real estate, visitor numbers of over 4 million per annum and 375 staff. At EC&O Simon served as Chief Operating Officer, before selling the business to Liberty International plc in 2007 for £380 million. In 2007 Simon co-founded with Lyons, Matterhorn Capital, which has been actively involved with real estate in the UK, France and the USA.
Anthony Lyons
Shareholder
Anthony Lyons co-founded the Gold Initiative and joined Daniel Gold as a partner in FES in 2012, becoming Daniel Gold’s strategic partner in bringing the FES business model forward. He co-founded Matterhorn Capital, a real estate investment vehicle in 2004, following the success of St. James Capital, an investment company founded in 1999. Matterhorn and its predecessor James Capital, has invested approximately £1.5 billion pounds since 1999 in a variety of real estate, hospitality and other types of long term cash flow leases.
Daniel Gold
Shareholder
Daniel Gold has been the Chief Executive Officer of FES USA since its inception in 2009.
Daniel founded Rushteam, an industrial cleaning and janitorial products supplier in 1989. Under Gold’s leadership, Rushteam successfully expanded and now has offices in seven European countries employing over 300 people. In 2003 Gold successfully acquired ISA International, a global toner cartridge and stationery company. ISA quickly became one of the top privately held companies in Great Britain. Gold then moved to Florida and set up Future Energy Solutions. Over the next four years Gold took FES from a start up to a company undertaking lighting projects in America and Europe.
PETER HAWKSWORTH
CEO
Peter is a key shareholder in the business, bringing to it a wealth of practical commercial and management experience. Previously he spent 10 years with Siemens as Global CEO of the Electronic Security Division, having joined them following their acquisition of Photo-Scan plc. Peter built Photo-Scan over a 10 year period into the UK’s largest Electronic Security Rental Integrator before listing on AIM in 2004. Peter’s early career was spent in the UK Construction and Property sector, having been Commercial Director of the Wilson Group and Mansell’s for several years.
Marcus Brodin
Commercial Director
In 2013, Marcus was instrumental in launching FES when he was appointed Commercial Director for the UK Business, following a period in America with FES USA during 2012. Marcus joined Matterhorn Capital in 2009, working on Management, Acquisitions and Sales within the portfolio, gaining a broad experience of the UK & European Real Estate Markets before joining FES. His experience in the property business has been of direct relevance to the growth of FES, playing a vital role in the development of their unique proposition. Marcus has a broad commercial remit with a focus on strategic development, financial modelling, proposition submission and pre and post contract negotiation.
AARON CALLEN
Legal director
Aaron Callen came to FES as Legal Director in 2016. He has over fifteen years of in-house legal experience, covering banking, financial and commodity markets and general commercial operations. His work has ranged from private company M&A, through investment management (PE and funds), to OTC and exchange-traded derivatives. He has executed transactions and provided advice both domestically and internationally (EMEA, the Americas, South and South East Asia and Australasia), having acted as both sole counsel and member of large in-house teams.
NICK MANIATAKIS
Financial Controller
Nick joined FES as Financial Controller in 2015. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with BDO Stoy Hayward in 1998. Since then he has worked for a variety of International Companies with listings on Stock exchanges throughout notably Paris, Milan and London. Prior business including multi company grounds which straddled international borders. More recently has concentrated on the Energy sector particularly in Renewables and Energy Efficiency, companies which had turnover in excess of £100mil and assets in excess of £225m. His role as Financial Controller covers all areas of finance including preparation of Management and Statutory Accounts, budgeting, cashflow planning as well as liaison with auditors, tax advisors and banks in international jurisdictions.
Kevin Ripo
Project Director
Kevin has been with FES as Projects Director since 2013. With over 25 years of operational experience both in UK and overseas, holding senior roles within various blue chip companies such as Honeywell, Siemens and Tyco International. Kevin has managed large scale roll outs such as Network Rail infrastructure projects, Police authority upgrades, critical national infrastructure upgrades, as well as managing large single site projects in the Oil and Gas, logistics, hospitality, airports, and sea port sectors; and more recently completing large multi-site programmes for NCP and Spire.
RYAN CROOKS
Business Analyst
Ryan is a data-driven physics graduate from Queen Mary, University of London, joining FES as a Business Analyst shortly after finishing in 2014. Since then he has specialised in financial modelling and data visualisation with a key role in the creation of FES’ business case models. He hopes to take his experience with data and help the business grow in the UK and internationally.
MONALISA MATEO
Management Accountant
Monalisa is a Part-Qualified Management Accountant with over 12 years of accounting and finance experience. She joined Matterhorn in 2010 and was involved in monthly reporting and project management for UK, Europe, USA real estates and investments. Her focus shifted to FES in 2012 with the implementation of processes, analysis and management accounts, and she is now the first point of contact for internal and external clients.
Alisa Lam
Data Analyst
Alisa joined FES in 2018, having relocated to London from Sydney, Australia. She was previously a qualified finance business partner the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, providing support to several Strategic Investment initiatives. Alisa is passionate about expanding on her data driven background and broadening her commercial exposure to international businesses. She also hopes to travel as much of the world as she can.
Jonathan Goldser
Data Analyst
Jonathan joined FES in 2018 having read Physics at the University of Manchester. He went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Nuclear Science and Technology where he was awarded with the RV Memorial Prize for the highest grade in his cohort. Among his achievements at Manchester University was a successful research project performed in collaboration with the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment.

Ed joined FES as a Business Analyst in fall of 2018, bringing a wealth of commercial experience, gained in the years since completing his study of economics at university in 2010. During this time, he has held key business development positions within several global retail and environmental service businesses including SSP and Veolia, specialising in the financial modelling and submission of global tenders and investment projects.

Veronica joined FES team as Part–Qualified Management Accountant and her main role is focused on monthly reporting, project costing, the implementation of processes and preparation of Management and Statutory accounts. Originally Veronica joined Matterhorn in 2016, reporting for projects across the UK and the USA real estates and investments. She is aiming to use her experience and knowledge to build relationships, assess business challenges to drive positive outcomes and deliver value to the company as a whole.
